Since its inception in 1959, BMCE managed to represent a multi-business bank, based on a wide branch network. One
of the ingredients for this success lies first in history with the
creation, under the seal of His Majesty King Mohammed V, the Moroccan
Bank of Foreign Trade and action inspired by the shareholder then
mostly public, wisely capitalize on its key asset, its international
vocation and specialization in foreign trade activities, along with
expanding its attributes into a universal bank network, addressing a diverse clientele. The ingredients for this success are also found in more recent history, with the implementation of its privatization. The
privatization process has attracted a consortium whose composition and
quality were then unrivaled, led by the Moroccan Royal Insurance and
involving big names in international finance - Union Bancaire Privee,
Citibank, Morgan Grenfell plc, Pictet & Co., Soros Quantum Fund, - to the jewels of the economy and finance in Morocco. Today,
BMCE is a flagship institution in the Moroccan banking landscape, a
Bank of mostly Moroccan capital, with a shareholding of quality and
prestige, a Bank combines its action with that of a private group
